The door's open to everyone
Any adult of any orientation can join, so the pool is wide. Keen to meet people well outside the dressing scene? That breadth is the drawcard.
Swipe app or heels site
Tinder is built for everyone. We're built for crossdressers, trans women and their admirers. Here's who each one suits.
Want to date as a crossdresser or trans woman, or meet one? Crossdressing Australia is made for that and nothing else, and has been since 2010. Want the broadest mix of Aussies of every orientation, and happy to choose when the heels come up? Tinder's your app. Nothing stops you running both.
Tinder is the mainstream swipe app, open to every adult. We're a dating site for one scene, and of the 2,800-plus Australians on it, more than 800 picked CD/trans when they signed up. That one difference shapes everything below.
| What matters | Crossdressing Australia | Tinder |
|---|---|---|
| Made for | Crossdressers, trans women and their admirers | Every adult, every orientation |
| Saying who you are | Join as CD/trans, a man, a woman or a couple, then tick your interests | Man, Woman or Beyond Binary, plus as many detailed options as apply |
| Proving you're real | Free ID check for a blue tick, or a live video check with a moderator | Face Check video selfie for every new Australian user |
| On your phone | Any phone browser, saved to your home screen | App, plus a web version |
Fair's fair
Tinder didn't get famous by accident, and a few of its strengths matter if you dress.
Any adult of any orientation can join, so the pool is wide. Keen to meet people well outside the dressing scene? That breadth is the drawcard.
Tinder's "More Genders" option arrived here on 6 March 2018, developed with Transgender Victoria and released ahead of Sydney Mardi Gras. Today you choose Man, Woman or Beyond Binary, add as many detailed options as apply, use "Not listed" if none fits, add pronouns, and show or hide your gender and orientation.
Since 16 September 2025 every new Australian user has had to pass Face Check, a live video selfie that also spots one face running several accounts. The Nightly reported that Tinder banned 190,269 accounts in 2024-25 for spam and inauthentic activity.
Share My Date, photo verification, warnings on messages that might offend, and reporting and blocking all come built in.
On a general app, dressing is something you decide whether to put on your profile, and then you wait to see how it lands. Here it goes up front. Join as CD/trans and tick what you're into: en femme, lingerie, satin, pantyhose, sissy or drag. Fancy crossdressers rather than being one? Sign up as a man, a woman or a couple and tick admirer. Either way, whoever opens your profile knows the score before the first message lands.
Then say what you're after. One cheeky night, a string of flings, filthy late-night chat or a regular Saturday date: put it on the profile and let the right people come to you. Admirers can brush up on how to meet crossdressers, and anyone after more replies should grab our crossdresser profile tips.
Both take fakes seriously, in different ways. Tinder leans on Face Check for every new Australian account. Here, a free ID check earns you a blue tick, or you can prove you're you to a moderator on a live video call, with no documents handed over. AI age checks keep the site adults only.
After that, the site keeps watch for you. Everyone carries a reputation score built from behaviour and feedback. Every photo, video and message is screened on upload, by AI and by people. If someone tries to drag the chat onto WhatsApp, a classic scammer's move, you get a warning. Blocking is instant, and real people on support answer 24/7 by chat or message. The full rundown is on our safety page.
Tinder lets you show or hide your gender and orientation on your profile, which is a handy control. Here, privacy starts with the basics. You're a username and a nearest town, your real name and email never appear, and explicit photos stay blurred behind a warning until the viewer chooses to look. Post the outfit first and save the face for someone you trust.
There's no app store download either. The site runs in your phone's browser and sits on your home screen like any other app, so there's nothing in your app store history. Our crossdresser dating app page shows you how in a few taps.
Both let you join free and have a good look around. Tinder sells paid tiers called Plus, Gold and Platinum. What VIP and VIP Plus add here, and what each costs in Australian dollars, is all on our pricing page. Payments go through secure, PCI-compliant infrastructure with SSL encryption, and if you want to know how the charge will show up before you buy, ask support. They're on 24/7.
Credit to Tinder for investing here, from Face Check to the gender options it built with Transgender Victoria. It's also one of the apps that developed Australia's Online Dating Industry Code. Crossdressing Australia has been online for Aussies since 2010. Melbourne has more members than any other city, well over 300, with close to 300 in Sydney, more than 140 in Brisbane and more than 100 each in Adelaide and Perth.

It can be. Its gender options are flexible, you can add pronouns, and every new Australian user has to pass Face Check. If you'd rather date where crossdressers, trans women and their admirers are the whole point of the place, a site made for that saves a lot of explaining.
Yes. They're separate services, so you could keep one profile for everyday dating and another for nights in heels.
No. Open it in the browser on your phone or computer, pop it on your home screen, and it behaves like an app.
Both give you privacy controls, and Tinder lets you hide your gender and orientation. Here you're known by a username and a nearest town, your real name and email stay hidden, and explicit pics sit behind a blur until someone chooses to look.
Make your profile in minutes, tick what you're into and see who's close by.
